The name “Shirley Temple” alone brings up memories of the child star with her bouncy blonde curls, or perhaps a catchy tap number. Little completes the innocent image like the bright pop of a maraschino cherry atop this drink’s grenadine and soda mix, a mixture said to have come into being when Temple herself saw her parents with an “old fashioned” and wasn’t about to be left out. Despite Temple’s refusal in her adult years to allow her name to be used in marketing the most famous of non-alcoholic beverages, the term has stuck. Now you can enjoy the sweet cherry pop of a Shirley Temple at a bar, or wafting through your home.
